This landmark report provides our best view of the current profession. It uses data from APTA's 2021-22 practice profile survey to illustrate the influences of geographic location, practice setting and clinical focus, years of experience, sex/gender, race/ethnicity, and advanced practice on wages earned by physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.

The report includes comparisons based not only on annual wages but also on our calculated estimates of wages per hour. This provides additional insight on the dollars earned for hours worked in different settings and clinical areas.
