Carmen Elliott, is vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and executive director of the Physical Therapy Fund as of April 2021.
Elliott is a longtime member of the APTA staff team, having been with the association since 2006. Previously she served as APTA’s vice president of insurer relations, where she provided strategic direction through leadership of advocacy efforts to promote the best health care coverage for consumers and policies that support physical therapist services.
Before joining APTA, she was a practice administrator for a large physical therapy practice, where she oversaw operations of five outpatient clinics. She also worked for various managed care organizations, where she was in charge of developing a provider network and contracting with providers. She holds a bachelor's degree in biology and master’s degree in health care management. In 2016 she was selected as an ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Program Scholar, and she became a certified association executive in 2018.
