The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted nearly every facet of life — but it doesn't have to stand in the way of your career development. The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties can help.
Recently, the board, known as ABPTS, announced that it's making several changes to deadlines and payment options in an effort to make it as easy as possible for PTs to pursue and maintain board-certified specialist credentials. Among the offers:
- Deadline extensions for initial certification applications. The application deadline has been extended to October 1 for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary, Clinical Electrophysiology, Oncology, and Women’s Health physical therapy specialties; and to October 31 for Geriatrics, Neurology, Pediatrics, Orthopaedics, and Sports.
- A 50-50 payment option. This year, applicants can opt to pay only 50% of a certification application fee at the time of application, with the balance deferred until November 30.
- Deadline extensions for the ABPTS Maintenance of Specialty Certification Program. ABPTS has extended submission, eligibility, and payment deadlines to December 31 for its MOSC program.
